Phase 1 of the Villages @ Herring Creek included the construction of a spray irrigation field for the on-site disposal of treated wastewater. Several years after the wastewater treatment plan was activated, Sussex County Engineering Department expanded central sewer service to include the project. The prior engineering plan for Phase 2 included removal and re-grading of the entire wastewater lagoon and all associated infrastructure. Axiom's re-design provided significant cost savings by retaining the subgrade liner intact for the majority of the lagoon to serve as a liner for the permanent stormwater management
